Forestry industies expo september 2011

The PF Olsen Forestry Industries Expo is on at the Rotorua Energy Events Centre from 5 to 7 September 2011. This is a significant event for the forestry sector with more than 500 people expected to attend. The Department of Labour is hosting an information stand where the Forestry Sector Action Plan will be launched. The Plan has been developed in conjunction with ACC and the Forest Owners Association and is part of the National Action Agenda. The Agenda aims to reduce the number of injuries and fatalities in the high risk sectors of forestry, manufacturing, construction, agriculture and fishing. The Forestry Sector Action Plan details the range of initiatives that the sector and government are undertaking to reduce the forestry work toll by 2013.
